ABOUT US

European drama network was founded by producer Simon M Woods in 2007 with the aim of making modern movies from classic plays and bringing them to a global audience via the internet.

Our passion is reinterpreting classic plays and stories that have remained current to successive generations for hundreds and sometimes thousand of years simply because they are good, interesting and relevant. Stories and plays that transcend their own time or period because in them, whatever your age or culture, you can find something that links it to us and now.

We do not cast because a certain actor will bring us media coverage. It is our policy to cast actors who are exactly right for the roles and present to audiences some of the fantastic actors, who may not be household names but are without doubt enormously talented.

In addition to our movies we provide TV programming about their making and provide an opportunity to get the music, artwork and scripts. We also plan to provide links and programming around related subjects that interest us and hopefully you.

Initially our focus is comedy and our next production will continue the link with director Malachi Bogdanov as we help him realise his unique talent and vision.

Based in the Worcestershire countryside near Birmingham, UK, European Drama Network is an independent production and distribution company. We hope you will join us as our productions increase over the next few years and the range of material broadens.

OUR PEOPLE

Simon M Woods discovered and managed the pop group UB40 and set up the record company Dep International. More recently he was CEO of Birmingham School of Acting.
